Welcome to Kim Laboratory!
We study how pathogens adapt to different environments, cause acute and chronic diseases, and evade host immunity and antimicrobial agents through genetic, biochemical, and molecular analyses with in vitro and in vivo infection models. We study two bacterial models, Rickettsia species and Staphylococcus aureus, that exhibit markedly different genetic evolution and host adaptation traits.
